What a way to kick off a weekend.
Friday night Robert Downey Jr. took to Facebook to Livestream a night shoot he had scheduled for Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War at Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios. During this live stream, we had unprecedented appearances from Tom Holland, The Russo Brothers, and Chris Pratt. However, as soon as Star-Lord stepped on the screen, giving us our first Stark/Quill crossover, the stream was cut short. But it was soon followed by a production start announcement video that gave us an inside look at the Infinity War set.
We see a mangled landscape with our a few of our main cast(Downey, Holland, and Pratt) standing atop it discussing their excitement for the film. I’m not going to guess what that landscape is, maybe Thanos wrecking shop-dammit I said I wouldn’t go into it.
We then cut to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, directors Joe and Anthony Russo, and Screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen Mcfeely explaining how Infinity War will be the culmination of the MCU thus far. Feige also once again promised that Thanos will be the MCU threat that we’ve all been waiting for.
The behind the scenes look also revealed concept art displaying Rocket Raccoon and Thor standing side by side in Battle and a couple of sneak peaks at Thanos which increased my excitement for Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War tenfold.
Seeing these creatives talk with so much care about these characters and story really gives me hope for this film(films) going forward, The Russo’s and Co. are cooking up something special over the next year. Marvel Studios has only had a few missteps in the past and are only getting better as they learn their craft. If Marvel can once again deliver on this film, we’re looking at one biggest event films of our lifetime and the possibilities of will happen in these films are infinite.
