Deadline reports that Max Landis will write and the direct the remake of the classic 1981 horror film that his father, John Landis, wrote and direct.
The upcoming Universal film is being produced by ‘The Walking Dead’ creator, Robert Kirkman, and David Albert, executive producers of ‘The Walking Dead’ show. Also producing is Todd Garner and Matt Smith. John Landis will executive produce.
‘An American Werewolf in London’ (1981) is highly regarded for how the movie blends different genres, as well as the incredible makeup work by Rick Baker.
Max Landis has a cool style to him, that could work for this type of movie, but why does he need to remake this? I’d much prefer him making a sequel. That way there could be a different story and still keep the distinct style of the original movie.
