‘Live By Night’ Trailer Released; Looks To Be A Triumph

Ben Affleck’s next movie, “Live By Night”, is his follow up to “Argo”-which won Best Picture in 2013-but does the trailer live up to the hype? It does indeed.

Ben Affleck stars and directs in his newest film, “Live By Night”, along with Zoe Saldana. The film is set in the probation era, and is centered around a group of gangsters and their dealings with organized crime. So, we’ll just say “The Town” set in the 20’s. But that’s not a bad thing.

The trailer for “Live By Night” (above) is easily one of the best trailers I’ve seen all year. It looks to be beautifully shot, and profoundly directed. It’s definitely not too early to say this is for sure an Oscar contender.

Ben Affleck and Zoe Saldana both look amazing. Maybe this could be the year Affleck gets nominated for acting too? We got to see a little bit of Elle Fanning’s role in the film, she looks great also. But what’s interesting is we didn’t see any of Scott Eastwood, who also stars in the film. Scott Eastwood also isn’t known to be the greatest actor. Hopefully he’ll be able to pull it off, but him not being in the trailer is worrisome. Or maybe he just has two lines then his character dies like in “Suicide Squad? Who knows..

The trailer itself is perfect. It gives you an idea of what’s going on without giving away the whole plot. All we really know is, Ben Affleck is a gangster and he’s getting in some trouble with other people. That’s what I love most about this trailer, it only gives you an idea of what’s going on. It pulls you in with stunning cinematography, and amazing action, just enough to get you to the theater without knowing everything. The trailer is edited like most trailers are now. It’s edited to where the beat of the song lines up with the action and cuts, and it definitely works here.

Overall, Ben Affleck captivates us once again with his self directed films. After seeing this trailer, “Live By Night” is probably the film I’m looking forward to the most this Oscar season. Will you be seeing “Live By Night”? Let us know in the comments.

“Live By Night” hits theaters January 13th, 2017.
