Spoilers for Spider-Man: Homecoming below, even though we’ll probably find out officially this character is in Homecoming long before the movie hits theaters.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently shooting in Atlanta, and we don’t exactly know what the full extent of the film’s plot entails are, which I’m completely fine with.
We know that the film has a John Hughes vibe (great) and is set when Peter Parker/ Spider-Man (Tom Holland) is still in high school. The Vulture (Michael Keaton) and The Tinkerer (Michael Chernus) are the confirmed villains, but Logan Marshall-Green and Bokeem Woodbine are also playing villains. Don’t give me that garbage that Michael Mando is playing Carnage or even a villain for that matter. He very well could be, but we don’t know. That speculation only started because of that Better Call Saul twitter post.
All these villains make me think we’re getting the Sinister Six in Spider-Man Homecoming. That’s just me speculating though. The Sinister Six probably wouldn’t be that great to introduce this early. That’s something that is better to build up to.
Regardless we got the first photos of Shocker, who Woodbine was rumored to be playing, on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
I’m into how he looks. The costume could be better, but these are just set photos after all. I saw someone on Twitter say, “the suit looks like crap… which is perfect,” which I thought was funny. I’ve always been a fan of Shocker, so I’m excited to see him on the big screen.
As for the movies having too many villains, we just need to wait and see how they plan to juggle all these villains. I trust Marvel. They know how too many villains have really hurt Spider-Man movies and other superhero movies before. Plus it’s Shocker. He doesn’t need a ton of development and could possibly just be the starting out villain for the movie.
Spider-Man: Homecoming Hits Theaters July 7, 2017.
