Stephen Amell’s Alright with a New Green Arrow in the DCEU

Sure he is.
Amell has been very open about how he feels about the DC movies casting different actors in the same roles, as played by him and other actors of the DC TV universe. He wasn’t happy about how Warner Bros. announced the casting of Ezra Miller in the Flash movie only a few days after The Flash, with Grant Gustin, premiered. As of now, we’re not sure when/if Green Arrow will show up in the movies. Back in June, after a meeting at WB, Amell said there were currently no plans to use the character in any future movies.

At this past weekend’s Salt Lake City Comic Con, the actor had the same thoughts about Green Arrow being recast as he eventually had about Ezra Miller playing the Flash on the big screen.

I do not have a right to Oliver Queen. Someone played it before me. Someone voiced it before me. Somebody will play it after me. I don’t believe that there are plans for Oliver Queen in the DC Extended Universe, based off things that people have told me, but I would not be upset if that changed at all.

He’s totally making sense here, but I still feel like he’s lying. He shouldn’t worry about that though. The DC TV universe (quality wise) is in much better shape than the DCEU. Even with how the quality has dropped in Arrow, he’s still great in the role.

If/when Green Arrow gets used in the movies, who do you guys want to see play him? Charlie Hunnam seems to be a popular choice, as there’s even fan art envisioning him as the character. He’d be perfect.
