‘Legion’ will be in the X-Movieverse

Well what can I say, we are Legion.

During the Edinburgh Television Festival, we learned from director Bryan Singer himself and Peter Rice CEO of 21st Century Fox, that Legion will be a part of the X-Men movie continuity.

According to THR:

Singer discussed Legion, which he is executive producing for FX, saying it is designed to be a series that is “part of the X-Men universe, but when you watched it, you wouldn’t have to label it, it could exist completely on its own.” He said it and another planned X-Men series “will relate to future X-Men movies.” And he added it would feature a “really ambitious and fun and very unique storyline.

This is an interesting development now knowing that Legion will fall into the continuity that has already been set up with X-Men Days of Future Past.

Singer did point out that the series could exist on its own but will relate to future X-Men movies. Legion in the comic books is an incredibly powerful mutant that is the son of Professor Charles Xavier.  So with Legion connecting to future X-Men films, does that mean Legion could still be Xavier’s son ? We’ll have to wait to find out.

Legion premiers in early 2017.
