Thanks to Umberto Gonzalez over at TheWrap, we now have official confirmation that the 2013 Superman solo film, “Man Of Steel”, has a sequel in active development.
No word on a release date or director though. Many have speculated the untitled DC Film slated for a 2019 release date is the “Man Of Steel” sequel.
George Miller is among one of the fan favorites to direct the sequel. It is highly possible considering Miller has worked with Warner Bros. before, and was going to direct “Justice League: Mortal” back in 2009, which was cancelled right before cameras were set to begin rolling. Miller has also been rumored to directed 2020’s “Green Lantern Corps”. But could he have turned it down to take Zack Snyder’s place? Hopefully we will get an announcement soon.
